Pricing pages that convert: what SMP clinics get wrong

Many scalp micropigmentation clinics either omit pricing entirely or hide it behind a "contact us for a quote" form. The instinct is understandable — SMP pricing genuinely varies by the extent of coverage, the number of sessions, and the type of work — but in practice this costs bookings, because a prospect who cannot find even a starting price will simply check the next clinic in his results rather than fill out a form to learn a ballpark.

The fix is not to publish one fixed number that ignores real variation — it is to structure pricing so a prospect gets a genuinely useful starting point without either side needing a back-and-forth just to establish rough expectations.

Give a real range, not a vague gesture

"Pricing varies, contact us for a quote" tells a prospect nothing and reads as evasive — a particular problem for a cautious buyer already nervous about the whole decision. "Full shaved-look SMP from $X across your sessions" gives him something concrete to compare against the other clinics he almost certainly has open in other tabs, and signals a clinic confident enough in its value to be transparent.

Explain the session model clearly

One of the most common points of client confusion — and a frequent source of one-star reviews that have nothing to do with the actual work — is not understanding that SMP is delivered across multiple sessions, and whether the quoted price covers all of them. Stating this explicitly ("price includes your full course of sessions; an optional top-up after several years is priced separately") pre-empts the confusion and the negative reviews that follow it.

Separate treatment types

A full shaved-look treatment on complete baldness, adding density to thinning hair, scar camouflage, and correction of poor previous SMP are genuinely different pricing scenarios — and lumping them into one number confuses everyone. Structuring the page around the type of work ("shaved look," "density," "scar and alopecia," "SMP repair") routes each visitor to the information actually relevant to his situation, rather than a single figure that does not obviously apply to him.

End with a low-friction next step

Once pricing is clear, the page should make the next step obvious and easy — a consultation booking, not a generic contact form that implies a wait. A prospect who has just found genuinely useful, honest pricing information is in exactly the right frame of mind to book a consultation; a clunky or slow next step at that moment is where clinics lose the momentum they worked to build.
